Using the Orton-Gillingham approach

Meet Elisabeth

Hi! I am Elisabeth. Full-time, I am an elementary school teacher with experience in both general education & special education. I studied the Orton-Gillingham approach in my graduate work at the Carroll School in Waltham, which is specifically designed for students with Language-Based Learning Differences. Through an intensive 10-month practicum, I obtained my Associate Level Certification through the Orton-Gillingham Academy.

I received my Bachelor’s in Science from James Madison University in Elementary Education, and my Master’s of Education in Moderate Disabilities from Lesley University. I have found a passion for teaching literacy using the Orton-Gillingham Approach, and I am ready to serve more students than just those who are in my classroom!

Building Stronger Readers

Multisensory Activities

Orton-Gillingham uses multisensory and tactile activities to help your student learn to read.

Diagnostic & Perscriptive Lessons

Every lesson is customized to your child’s needs. There’s no set schedule; we don’t move on until your child has obtained mastery.

Direct & Explicit Phonics Instruction

The Orton-Gillingham approach uses direct and explicit instruction for teaching new concepts. No guessing how to read or spell any words!
